The ASSOCIATION OF EUROPEAN ATTORNEYS was created in January 2004.

The AEA has offices in the majority of the independent countries. We are the largest network of lawyers in the world in what relates to the number of offices and number of countries covered. The AEA has 1.075 offices in 150 countries with a total of around 12.000 lawyers.

Most of our lawyers have a long experience as arbitrators. We deal with arbitration and mediation.

THE ARBITRATION COURT OF THE ASSOCIATION OF EUROPEAN ATTORNEYS has clear in mind the importance for the parties of the costs of arbitral proceedings. The Court has adopted as a rule to appoint a sole arbitrator mainly to reduce costs and fees of the Arbitral Tribunal for two thirds (66%). 

Furthermore, the proceedings may be faster and avoid the frequent disputes as to the neutrality of the party-appointed arbitrators. 

A sole Arbitrator is usually more efficient, more straight forward without the need of the fight between party-appointed arbitrators.
